About IES

JH Independent Electrical Services (IES) started trading in 1988 and since then has worked on and completed electrical and mechanical contracts within the domestic, commercial and industrial markets.

The company offers a range of services including domestic, commercial and industrial plumbing and oil and gas installation work. We also carry out gas servicing, testing, electrical servicing and testing, and plumbing repairs.

In April of 2008 JH Independent Electrical Services Ltd was bought by the Gardline Group and became part of the group's diverse range of companies trading as Independent Electrical Services. Subsequently, IES took over Lamb Electrical Services which operated in the Great Yarmouth and Gorleston area. Both moves have given the company greater stability, expertise and the opportunity to expand our customer base.

Many of our customers have very bespoke needs and we are therefore experienced in working to different specifications. Much of the work carried out by IES has been for local councils, working either directly or as part of their recommended contractor's scheme.

We also carry out work for:

  • Office and commercial properties
  • Ship and boat yards including the installation of equipment in small vessels

IES believes in continual professional development and training for our staff as we recognise the value of competent operatives. This enables us to carry out work to the highest standard maintaining the company's reputation and proven track record.

We also have a real commitment to Health and Safety and keeping our personnel and customers safe. We ensure that all staff have regular health and safety briefings.

IES recognises renewable and alternative energy technology as the way forward and a real opportunity for us to use our existing skills to offer customers a green energy option using high specification heat pumps for our customer's heating and hot water requirements.

We endeavour to give prompt attention to any queries whilst working with customers to give the best possible service so you can be assured of our continuing commitment to yourselves.

To this end, IES is a full member of the N.I.C.E.I.C (Number 22235); Gas Safe (Number 506862) and we support the ECA (Electrical Contractors Association) card scheme. In addition, we are registered with Norfolk County Council as a 'Norfolk Trusted Trader Member'.
